I saw this group as the opening act for the Squirel Nut Zippers and was I impressed. You can help but move and dance to the sound. Great lead guiter by Jim Lavender. I have all their CD's and hope to get the new one, Built of Stone this weekend. They are probably one of the hardest working bands.

About 10 years ago a friend and I went down to hilton head island to celebrate his 21st birthday. So as you can imagine...many bars were closed by us. Anyway, we stumbled into a hotel bar one night as we had heard, from the street mind you, an incredible sound coming from this place. When we walked in their was a barmaid, and one other customer in the place...practically empty. Except for this band on stage and playing away as if there was a full house. We sat down and ordered our drinks and listened to these fellas play ALL NIGHT! They were amazing! When they FINALLY put their instruments down we bought a round of drinks for them. We sat and talked about the plans for the big time. I told them if and when they put an album out I'd be first in line. But as you can guess...time slipped away and I lost track of these talented guys. But what a surprise! I've found them again AND they have two albums out!! So without even listening to the tracks...I've purchased both...so should you.

As a music reviewer for a magazine, it has been my distinct pleasure to meet Ben and the boys on more than one occasion. I have been to see them pretty much every time they make it to my area, and I will see them again, on Jan. 7th (in the Northern VA area). They are the most genuine group of guys you'd ever want to meet, and this is a quality that shines through in their recorded music. If you ever get the chance to see them live, walk up and chat. You'll be amazed at the warmth of character that radiates from these gents. On to the CD: This CD is a must-have, and worth every penny if you like country, Rockabilly, roots, Americana, or just good-guys. I must recommend, however, that if you've never heard CSI (Cigar Store Indians), that you get the self-titled CD before you listen to this one, in order to gain more insight into CSI. My personal preference is for the more rootsy sound, which can be heard on several, but not all, of the tracks on this CD.

These guys are great. I never have gotten to see them live but I would in a heartbeat. I could listen to my cd over and over and not get tired of them. I am going to buy thier new cd now.

Wow!!!!! These guys are great. This is not a bunch of commercial junk, this is Rock-a-Billy at it's best. I have not played a CD over and over like this in years. I just don't get tired of these guys. In fact I just ordered The Cigar Store Indian's first CD and I understand that they have a new live release coming out soon (10-12-01 I think)and I plan on getting that one as well.These guys put on one of the best, fun-filled shows that you will ever see and I strongly recomend that the next time these guys come to town that you check them out. They have fun and it shows, whether you see them live or listen to one of their recordings.

I just couldn't get into this music. I love rockabilly style music, but it just didn't do it for me. I wanted to like the band, I tried to like the band, but I just don't like the band. Every song sounds the same to me.

This is driving music. No, this is dancing music. No, this is house cleaning music. No, this is sing-along music. No, this is party music. Heck, this fits the bill no matter the mood or situation. Catch these guys live if you can.

When I lived in Atlanta, I went to see these guys once a month or so. Now I see them whenever they come to my town, so about every six months. I absolutely crave this high energy, highly engaging band! This CD is never far from my stereo.CSI's self-titled debut is a totally sweet blend of high energy rockabilly, bouncing honky tonk and sultry crooning. The songs are very engaging and often very funny too. After about six months of totally rocking to this disk you start to pick up on the subtle satire found in songs like "Barfly" and "Mother Of The Bride." But CSI is not just another self-aware proud-to-live-in-a-trailer-park alt-country band. They ham it up plenty but really deliver with songwriting and musical chops that often astound me. I've had this CD for years now, and let me tell you it stands up to repeated listening. Buy it, and enjoy it for years to come!

I simply don't trust people who don't like this cd. Also, get a copy of their live cd "Guest List." I had to get it from their website cigarstoreindians.com. Last time we went to see them we had so much fun I forgot that I don't really drink that often anymore. The 16oz. PBR in the can was the "best deal," but the $20 cab ride, lost cell phone, mysterious scrape on my leg, my new Nikes covered in mud and me sleeping on a sofa when I have a new Sealy Posturpedic matressled me to believe that they must have put on a hellava show.

like the first review, we got these guys to play our wedding - it was a 50's themed wedding - all the guys in shark skin jackets - the girls in 50s prom dresses - and the band MADE the wedding - their music is great, and they got everyone dancing. Sacred Was the Night was our wedding song. Get this CD!!!!

I ran out and got stuck with an early morning shift, so I needed my caffeine fix! I think these make a great alternative to drinking sodas because you get the caffeine and not the sugar, and I'm not a coffee drinker, so that's not an option.

Good buy! I carved one the hardest projects right off the bat and it came out great. One my first attempts too. Good price and shipping was fast.

I would have to say that this book is a good tool for the beggining sculptor. The book is informative as well as easy to follow. Most of the questions and doubts that I had were answered as I read from project to project. The book is not too overwhelming but rather simple and to the point. The book starts with a good section on selecting and caring for tools. Then briskly moves on to the wood needed and follows through to the projects in the book. Overall, I was pleased with the information gained from this book.

I collect figures. I have read the books that are used for reference. I have seen the exhibit that was chaperoned by Mr. Sessions (Sandwich,MA., NYC,NY & Baltimore,MD). I am a student of the art he describes! I was impressed by his scholarship, his easy east coast art scene style of writing, his photography/graphics, his hommage to Ms. Sanburn, Mr. Pendergast & Mr. Fried (I knew him). This is not a picture atlas. This is not a coffee table book. I would have liked to seen/read more especially regarding the social relevance of color race &c.(the folly of the time theirs & ours) but this is another matter! I RECOMMEND this book to all who treasure american sculpture. The vulgar artist is finally getting his place(WELL DONE Mr Sessions! What is next?).
